We Work Together
Harshton Muslim Welfare Organisation stands as a symbol of resilience, compassion, and hope. From disaster relief to long-term development, we continue working tirelessly to uplift communities, one act of kindness at a time.
WHO WE ARE
In 2019, Harshton Muslim Welfare Organisation was founded by Mwenyi Harshim Mwenyi, a devoted humanitarian, together with caring members of the local community in Uganda. Our journey began shortly before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the devastating landslides that struck Bulambuli District—events that deeply impacted countless lives and revealed the urgent need for grassroots support.
Witnessing the suffering and displacement caused by these crises, we could not remain idle. Inspired by a deep sense of duty and compassion, we came together with a shared purpose: to respond with action, not just sympathy. Out of this determination, Harshton Muslim Welfare Organisation was born—founded on the belief that meaningful change begins with sincere service to others.
In 2023, we became officially registered as a non-profit organisation in Uganda, committed to humanitarian relief and social welfare. Our name, Harshton, reflects our commitment to hope, unity, and service, rooted in the values of compassion, dignity, and Islamic principles.
We are dedicated to serving the most vulnerable and often overlooked members of society. Our work is guided by the principles of Ihsan—striving for excellence in all we do—alongside empathy, integrity, and unwavering dedication to community upliftment.
Inspired by the timeless words of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ):
“The parable of the believers in their mutual love and mercy is like that of a living body: if one part feels pain, the whole body suffers in sleeplessness and fever.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
This Hadith reminds us of our shared humanity and the collective responsibility we hold toward one another.
Today, Harshton Muslim Welfare Organisation stands as a symbol of resilience, compassion, and hope. From disaster relief to long-term development, we continue working tirelessly to uplift communities, one act of kindness at a time.
